HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE 2017!

Twas the night before christmas...

The people who read Modern Muse's Gift Guide cheered on merry and jolly christmas eve night and slept like babies knowing their gifts were on point. While others who stampeded the big box store's, layed in regret from overspending and uncertainty of how well this gift will actually be adored . Don't do that, do this:

Holiday Gift guide 2017/ Modern Muse style:

1. Authentic Decor - NO don't run off to pottery barn or anthorpolige just stop in at your nearest and dearest Salvation army! Go on a Wednesday - Its family day and almost ALL items are 50% off! Scrowl through the old eclectic Avon perfume bottles, browse through the books for good reads and also decorative pieces. Look for quirky pictures - you can be sure to find many "GAG gifts" without spending a fortune!

2. Try out POSHMARK ( sign up with my code MODERNMUSERACK FOR FREE $5!!!) and search for NWT (new with tag ) items from your favorite brands to gift. You will be surprised the discounts and even pieces your weren't searching for that can knock people right off your xmas shopping list! Recycled fashion - your doing a good thing for the universe too,  YOU ROCK!

3. Make a calendar from CVS for your family. If you have kids then this is all the Grand-parents will want! A calendar that every month has pictures of their grandchild/grandchildren! They are so easy to make and a small desk calendar is only $10!

4. Hit up your local market for handmade bath bombs, lotions, candles or any other handmade gems! I always feel great when I gift one of my favorite local handmade goods to a friend and tell them the story behind it or the maker who actually made the item! Support Small business!

5. TIME! Either gift tickets for you and family or friends to attend an event together. Make the memories which make us the richest people really. Low on funds? Then revert back to the classic "tickets" you may have made your parents back in the day of "one free hug"  and such. If you are young and have parents that say you don't  visit enough or you never call then give them a few "free out of the blue phone calls calling card" for them to redeem! Or "a free picnic planned and catered by me" for a friend to redeem a peaceful afternoon of good friendship and food!

The holidays are such a special feel good time. It's almost a new year, a new you so, make a change. Refuse to follow the crowd. DO what is best for you without feeling guilty or obligated to spend $$$ this much. It's not about what you spent its about the thought and if you knock into that creative jean you have, its basically guaranteed that your gifting will ROCK!

Style on,

M//M
